No Place For HateThe Anti-Defamation League (ADL) is one of the nation’s leading civil rights and human relations organizations. No Place for Hate® is an innovative ADL initiative that supports schools’ commitment to combating hate and building respect for all its members. ADL is pleased to offer this important initiative at no cost.

The No Place for Hate® initiative provides educators and students with the resources to ensure that anti-bias and diversity education are an integral part of the school community.  No Place for Hate® also helps to create and sustain inclusive school environments where all students feel valued and have the opportunity to succeed by promoting respect for individual difference while challenging bigotry and prejudice.

Step-by-Step instructions for schools to be designated a No Place for Hate® campus:

START by contacting the ADL North Texas/Oklahoma Regional Office to receive the Application Form (pdf file); complete the form and return it to the ADL Regional Office. Once ADL approves your application you will receive the No Place for Hate Resource Guide (pdf file), listing dozens of possible anti-bias and diversity projects.

CREATE a No Place for Hate® committee or team to plan, coordinate and oversee the anti-bias and diversity projects. The team should reflect the diversity of your students, faculty members and administration. Identify an administrative or faculty point person for the effort.

ISSUE the Resolution of Respect affirming a commitment to promoting respect and challenging bigotry in all forms. Have all members of your school sign ADL’s Resolution of Respect, or work with ADL to create one of your own which reflects the goals of this initiative.  Turn in theResolution of Respect Form (pdf file) indicating all members of your school have completed this task.

COMPLETE three or more anti-bias or diversity activities by the end of April. These activities can be selected from the ADL Resource Guide or you may work with ADL to create activities of your own which reflect the goals of this initiative.

SUBMIT a completed Activity Form (pdf file) at the conclusion of each activity.

RECEIVE a customized No Place for Hate® banner from ADL and count your school as a leader in teaching and modeling respect for individual and group differences while challenging prejudice and discrimination.
